Reasons Why the Summer Swim Program, and specifically BVSDT, is the Best Time
Spent It’s true that summer swim expands kids skills as swimmers
and divers. And it’s true that it’s incredibly fun. But there is so much more to the program... - It provides a valuable forum for kids to mentor kids.
- It’s
a way for parents to show their commitment to their kids by participating in the team activities and it provides the kids
with an opportunity to be proud of their parents for that involvement.
- It
provides parents with a window into their child’s world… who are their friends, what do they talk about.
- It teaches compassion, individual commitment, and community pride.
- It puts competition in the context of sportsmanship; the art of knowing that failure isn’t falling down,
it’s staying down... so it provides each child with a team member, a coach, a lifeguard, a parent, to give them a hand
getting back up.
- And of course, there are the coolest team swimsuits and spirit
wear on earth, the end of the season dinner, with the great food, the funny prizes, the heartwarming awards, and the surprise
end of the year gift.
- But most of all, there are the memories that last a
lifetime.
I hope your family will join our swim family this summer. Rosalie Bastone Parent Rep BVSDT Cell: 357-0349 rosalie.bastone@gmail.com
